When I was five I was just alive

And so the birthday arrives ... after much, much counting down and anticipation. We had the party last weekend, 14 screaming children in a play centre for 2 hours. But it was all good fun.

My cake making skills are eerily familiar (chocolate cake, raspberry icing, number of birthday outlined in Smarties) but so far no complaints from the public ...

Getting in early

And we still have to get through the birthday tomorrow, but you have to give her points for planning ahead.

Clearly her many trips to the cafe are imprinted on her subconscious, as she felt compelled to slip a reference to her home away from home into her letter for some reason. As for the Secret Safe Diary, I have no explanation. But I'm guessing it's pink.

Hallowe'en catch up

The ritual of the Carving Of The Pumpkins went ahead on schedule ... Finn decided his pumpkin definitely needed tears. Perhaps it's suffering from seasonal depression.

Izzy's was a slightly happier fellow ...

And then on the day after Hallowe'en someone nicked both of them from our front steps.
